Nacho Fernandez, a former captain of Real Madrid, has officially said his goodbyes to the club.

The seasoned defender declined a contract extension earlier this summer, thereby ending his 23-year association with the club.

He turned down the club’s offer to keep him for the 2024–25 season in favor of a two-year deal with Saudi Arabia’s Al-Qadsiah.

In their customary farewell ceremony, the club presented Nacho with the trophies he had earned during his time in Madrid, and club president Florentino Perez lauded the selfless influence Nacho had throughout his time with the club.Both Perez and Carlo Ancelotti, who coached Real Madrid twice, praised Nacho for his adaptability and clutch play, both at home and in Europe.
