A big change has happened: writer Alberto Martinez (h/t iMiaSanMia) says that Bayern Munich is now interested in Barcelona superstar Frenkie de Jong as the summer approaches.

After falling behind in the Bundesliga title race this season, the Bavarian giants want to improve their team and have set aside €150 million to do so.

What De Jong has planned for Bayern

One player that Bayern Munich wants to sign before the summer is Frenkie de Jong, a defender for Barcelona.

The Bundesliga giants have been interested in the Dutch player since he played for AFC Ajax and have been trying to sign him for a long time.

The report even says that Bayern looked into the idea of making a move for De Jong last summer, but nothing came of it.

But they want to sign De Jong again before the summer transfer window in 2024 and are ready to pay a lot of money for him.

Barcelona wants to get between €60 and €70 million.

De Jong, on the other hand, is happy at Barcelona and has said in the past that he doesn’t like how people are always talking about his future at the club.

However, Barcelona is not ruling out the possibility that the Dutch player will leave if a good deal comes along.

The Catalans know they need to raise €100 million by June 30, so they are considering selling a player. One of De Jong, Raphinha, or Ronald Araujo are possible candidates.

It is thought by Barcelona that they could get €60–70 million for De Jong, which would help them a lot.

Also, along with Robert Lewandowski, the Dutch playmaker is one of the highest-paid players at the club. Lewandowski’s departure would save the club a lot of money on wages.

Also, Barcelona thinks they have enough players in the middle of the field with Ilkay Gundogan, Pedri, Gavi, and Fermin Lopez. They want to add Aleix Garcia from Girona to their team.

Because of this, selling De Jong is not completely out of the question. Things aren’t set in stone yet, but Bayern Munich is interested, and Barcelona might be willing to do business.
