Getting ready! Booker got to get ready for the double teams
Thunder and Suns Announce Trade
Although the Phoenix Suns and the Atlanta Hawks couldn’t be more different, both clubs appear to be mired in their present ruts.
The Suns are attempting to harness the star power of their players in order to make a serious run at the NBA championship, while the Hawks are stuck in mediocrity.Adrian Wojnarowski reports that a deal has been finalized between the two clubs, sending forward E.J. Liddell to the Suns and forward David Roddy to the Hawks.
Roddy can play small forward or power forward with ease because to his 255-pound frame, despite his 6-foot-4 height.
In the 2023–24 season, he averaged 8.4 points and 4.2 rebounds per game after being dealt to the Suns in February.
He won the Mountain West Player of the Year award during his time at Colorado State University in 2021–22. He was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers with the 23rd overall choice in the 2022 NBA Draft but was dealt to the Memphis Grizzlies shortly after.
After sitting out his rookie year with a ruptured ACL, Liddell—who was selected in the second round of the 2022 draft—was limited to eight games of spot duty last season.
The 6-foot-7, 240-pound behemoth averaged 19.4 points and 7.9 rebounds per game in his final season at Ohio State.
The New Orleans Pelicans got guard Dejounte Murray, who was named to the All-Star game once, from the Hawks not long ago, and there have been whispers that the Hawks would trade for three-time All-Star player Trae Young.
Meanwhile, the Suns still have Bradley Beal, Devin Booker, and Kevin Durant on the roster, but they were eliminated in the first round of the 2024 playoffs. Now, under the leadership of Mike Budenholzer, the team will strive to become a legitimate Western Conference contender.
