Though Langley, British Columbia might not be the first place that springs to mind when considering vintage American muscle cars, buried in the garages of this gorgeous Canadian city is a real treasure: a brilliantly kept 1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS Z28.

Chevrolet responded to the Ford Mustang’s sudden popularity with the Camaro, and the second-generation versions debuted in 1969 are generally regarded as the best and most iconic of the breed. While the venerable Z28 option provided a high-revving 302 cubic inch V8 engine, improved suspension, and other performance modifications that made this Camaro a true driver’s car, the RS (Rally Sport) package introduced special trim and style accents.

Owned by local citizen Jim Travers, this specific vehicle is completed in an amazing shade of Fathom Green with a black inside. “I have been a Camaro enthusiast since I was a small child,” Travers notes. “I knew I had to have this ’69 RS Z28 several years ago. I hooked right away firing that 302 and heard that clear exhaust note.

Travers has wasted no cost in restoring and preserving every last aspect of his beloved item. The engine bay shines in chrome, the inside looks dealership new, and the outside paint still glistens brilliantly. “This car is my work of love,” he says. “I take it for the sporadic Langley sail, and it usually attracts a lot of people. These ancient Camaros have simply something very unique about them.
